Ahead of intermediate and strongearthquakes,it causes thermal infrared anomaly more evident with strengthening of faultgas releasing and low air electrolytic dissociation. So using interpretation technique ofsatellite thermal anomaly,we can quickly catch thermal infrared anomaly signal in largescale ahead of earthquake.Combining this new technique with the fault activity,we pre-dicted some of intermediate and strong earthquakes in China with good reliability and at-tained some experience. It shows that the method is a new way to predicting earthquake.

构造型地震是现代断层突发性错动产物。在强震孕育与破裂过程中,不仅释放巨大应变能量,而且在断层活动地段伴随着热效应,并引起岩石和土壤中水产生汽化与低空气体电离作用,从而诱发各种波段的地光现象(包括热红外光谱异常)。在中强地震前,随着断层放气与低空气体电离作用增强,将导致热红外异常更加明显。因此应用卫星热红外异常判别技术,可以在宏观尺度上,快速捕获震前热红外异常信息。作者应用这一新技术,结合断层的活动性,较好地预测了我国一些中强地震,并取得一定经验。它表明该方法是一种预测地震的新途径。

The Keping Ms 6. 5 earthquake in 1991 is taken as an example in this paper. It is proached and studied to use thermal infrared data of satellite remote sensing to monitor im pending infrared anomalies of ground. Before the Keping earthquake, the thermal infrared anomalies appeared in the epicentral region, and were most obvious two days previous to the shock. They ended at the third day after shocking. The anomalies were banded, and its dis tribution was uniform with the Keping fault. The magnitude 6. 5 earthquake...

Before the Keping earthquake, the thermal infrared anomalies appeared in the epicentral region, and were most obvious two days previous to the shock. They ended at the third day after shocking. The anomalies were banded, and its dis tribution was uniform with the Keping fault. The magnitude 6. 5 earthquake just occurred nearby the center of the anomalous region. All these show that thermal infrared anomaly is very fine impending earthquake information, indicating seismic locations very well, and pre sents bright prospects in monitoring and predicting earthquakes.

以1991年柯坪6.5级地震为例,对利用卫星热红外遥感资料监测临震地表热红外异常进行了探.索研究。在柯坪地震前,震中地区出现热红外异常,震前2天异常最显著,震后3天异常恢复。异常形态呈条带状,分布范围与柯坪断裂基本一致,6.5级地震就发生在增温异常的中心地区附近。这说明卫星热红外异常是很好的地震短临信息,对发展地点有很好的指示作用,在地震监测预报中将展现出良好的应用前景。
