In this paper the state of art of welding of the principal pressure parts of utility boilers such as steam drums, headers, tubes and membrane waterwalls at home and abroad is described. On the basis of analysis of the welding techniques adopted in this country in the manufacture of utility boilers, the author presents some problems worthy of consideration.

As shown from the result of the survey of 10 power plants, most of the failures of indirect-fired boiler pressure parts are of either localized creep rupture type or localized stress corrosion type. These types ot failures occure only in the place where high stress concentra ion exists. No failure due to primary film stress, of either ductile or creep type, was found in the survey and neither was the low cycie fatigue type failure due to frequent start-up.

High-pressure water booster is a critical unit for the application of the cutting technique of high-pressure water jet. The paper gives a brief introduction to the working principle of Model GYS-400 high-pressure water booster and the structural design of its main high-pressure parts, and some related results from the tests of cutting carbon fabric compound materials and glass fabric reinforced plastic with it are also presented herein.

高压水发生器是应用高压水射流切割技术的关键设备。本文简要介绍了GYS—400型高压水发生器的工作原理及主要高压部件的结构设计,同时列举了对碳纤维复合材料、玻璃钢等物料进行切割的一些试验数据。
