In addition, it shows that the topography of the lake basin influences on lake circulation, and the existance of the Xishan Island strongly enhances the current speed in the area between Xishan and Dongshan Islands. The convergence field in Taihu lake induced by different wind directions which influence directly on the distribution of the alga in Taihu lake is computed and analysed. Considering the two bays in the north area of Taihu lake, the convergence field can be divided into three patterns: (1) convergence patterns under S and SW winds: (2) divergence patterns under N and NE winds; and (3) convergence and divergence patterns under W, NW, E and SE winds.In terms of the simulated results. the concentration of blue-green alga in Taihu lake can be known roughly.In conclusion, three-dimensional model is better than two-dimensinal model in simulating wind driven current in large shallow lakes such as Taihu lake. The long corridor between Xishan and Dongshan Islands in Taihu lake is very important to the formation of the lake circulation. The three patterns of convergence fields which result in the different distributions of the concentration of the alga are classified in the paper according to the different wind directions.

The karst cave Zhengjiadong is situated 12 km east of Anshun City, Guizhou Province, China. It is characterized by a narrow entrance,a long corridor, spacious chambers and an abundance of speleothem decorations of various forms. AZJ 2, a 146 cm long stalagmite taken there, with diameters of 30 cm near the base and 15 cm close to the top, is mainly composed of pure, compact and well crystallized calcites.It was previously dated with α spectrometry U series method,giving age results consistent within the range of counting error throughout its longitudinal axis. Other two stalagmites from this cave gave similar results. As the age difference between two extremities can not be distinguished, these specimens are of limited value for deciphering information concerning paleoclimate evolution. The newly developed thermal ionization mass spectrometry (TIMS) allows the counting statistics for U and Th isotopes to greatly reduce. So it is suggested that with high precision TIMS technique,the growth rate of Zhengjiadong stalagmites might be given.Seven samples along the growth axis of AZJ 2 have been analyzed with TIMS.The experiments were carried out using the facilities at Centre de Recherche en Géochimie Isotopique et en Géochronologie (GEOTOP), University of Quebec at Montreal, Canada. The chemical procedure was adapted from Edwards et al.. The 236 U, 233 U, 229 Th spike was calibrated against a Precambrian uraninite standard (HU 1). The TIMS results show that AZJ 2 experienced three periods of different rates of formation. Five samples from the top 90 cm give results consistent within the counting statistics, indicating a high deposition rate of greater than 30 cm/ka. The age difference between the 2 samples from the basal 21 cm is also statistically insignificant. The remaining 28 cm long section in between was formed from 147 0± to 139 5±1 5 ka B.P., the difference being statistically significant. However, as no additional samples have been analyzed, we are not likely able to infer the growth rate of this particular section. The results of this study suggest that the difficulty in precisely establishing a time scale for δ 18 O and δ 13 C evolution is one of the critical constraints to retrieve paleoclimate message from stalagmites. The time interval during which AZJ 2 was formed, 147 ̄138 ka B.P., represents probably a warm and humid period in the region of Guizhou, which seems in support of the hypothesis formulated by Winograd et al., i.e. the stage 5 of deep sea δ 18 O record began at 148 ka B.P..This scenario may also be accounted for by the general instability of the global climate during the past hundreds of thousands years.If so, there might be two regional warm and humid events around 147 and 138 ka B.P..

We therefore used new structural relationships and planning techniques that meet life in the 21st century, which is good for the continuation of the local context, the preservation of traditional outlooks and adaptation to modern life and management model. In the specific design we make full use of the existing river in the southwest of the residential district.
