After a brief description of fundamentals of the conjectural variation (CV) method, a novel CV-based method to develop optimal bidding strategies under incomplete information for generation companies participating in an electricity market are presented, with an objective of profit maximization. Through the theoretical analysis and the results of calculation examples it is shown that the classical game theory based bidding strategies is only a special case of the solution family of the presented method....

After a brief description of fundamentals of the conjectural variation (CV) method, a novel CV-based method to develop optimal bidding strategies under incomplete information for generation companies participating in an electricity market are presented, with an objective of profit maximization. Through the theoretical analysis and the results of calculation examples it is shown that the classical game theory based bidding strategies is only a special case of the solution family of the presented method. By using the proposed method, different Nash equilibria of the electricity market could be attained corresponding to different CV sets assumed by generation companies. Conclusions obtained from theoretical analysis are well demonstrated by numerical simulation results.

介绍了微增响应猜测法(Conjectural Variation,CV)的基本概念,提出了基于这种方法构造发电公司在不完全信息情况下的最优投标策略。通过理论分析和算例计算,结果表明基于经典博弈理论构造的发电公司的最优投标策略是该方法的一种特例。采用该方法进行市场模拟时,对各发电公司不同的微增响应猜测进行组合,可以得到不同的市场均衡点,且均为Nash均衡点。

A new bidding approach based on conjectural variation (CV) improvement via dynamic learning is developed for generation firms to construct strategic bidding in oligopolistic spot electricity market with incomplete information. It is shown that the equilibrium reached in the market is a Nash equilibrium when the proposed bidding approach is utilized, individual firms have motivations to conduct learning; learning of all firms will decrease the clearing price of spot markets and improve the social welfare in oligopolistic electricity markets, as well as the elasticity of demand has positive impacts on the convergence of learning process.

该文应用微增响应猜测(Conjectural Variation,CV)方法构造一种在不完全信息情况下的寡头竞争电力现货市场中发电公司通过动态学习改进对竞争对手的微增响应猜测的新投标策略,指出当各发电公司采用该文提出的投标策略进行不断重复的投标竞争后,市场所达到的均衡点为Nash均衡点。算例计算结果说明各发电公司具有进行动态学习的动力,但是当所有公司进行学习时将会降低市场结清电价从而提高电力市场的社会总效益。算例计算结果还说明了电力需求弹性对学习过程的收敛性具有积极作用。

It is shown that a general integrated model including conjectural variations will range from complete competition to monopoly in a homogeneous market.Then,the relationship between conjectural variations in quantities and conjectural variations in prices in differentiated product market is illustrated.Finally,some theoretical arguments are presented,as well as possible firm's competitive behaviors.

用于研究寡头垄断市场的推测变差方法,可以将各种寡头行为模型进行统一,本文在这个基础上,考察了产量推测和价格推测之间的关系。这种对应关系对于我们理解和指导实践,尤其是战略管理,都有一家的帮助。
