Based on the experimental results of a new type of joints between concrete-filled rectangular steel tubular columns and steel beams under cyclic loadings, stress patterns of the joint are analyzed, and a moment transferring model is created. A method for calculating the ultimate bearing moment and the corresponding suggestions for design are subsequently proposed.
