The good ductility of flexible connectors such as studs enables it valid to use simple plastic theory in the design of composite steel concrete beams and provides the composite structures with good energy dissipation ability under earthquake actions .
In this paper,the passive control structure is treated as a feed back control system,and the energy dissipation ability of the visco-elastic damper is simulated by KELVIN model. The seismic performance of the controlled structure are described by state-space method. Dynamic simulation is carried out through the SIMULINK toolbox in MATLAB to get the dynamic response of the controlled structure.
