Here the above approach has been extended from two to N unresolved targets.The simulation indicates that the detection probability of the N unresolved targets may not exceed that of the two unresolved targets. The detection probability is mostly affected by the SNRs of the two target which are most separated among the N targets. [

Detection of unresolved dim targets in optical images has acquired great attention in imaging guided system.Effectiveness and real-time capacity are the two most important factors of detection algorithm,however,they are paradoxical,which bring forward lots of questions to the dim target detection algorithm.Here we give a new dim target detection algorithm,which can detect dim targets in optical images effectively in very short time.The algorithm has been used to detect unresolved targets in a real optical imaging guided system.

弱信号小目标检测是光学成像制导图像处理系统的关键技术之一。衡量小目标检测算法性能的依据是算法的有效性和实时性,两者之间的矛盾是现有各类弱信号小目标检测算法所必须面对的问题。研究了光学图像中弱信号小目标的广义最大似然比检测(GLRT)算法,所提出的算法不仅能够有效检测图像中的弱信号小目标,而且具有较强的实时性,并已应用于实际光学成像制导系统中。
