Prom the time of its introduction to science down to the present day, the giant panda has been regarded by some authors as a belonging to the Ursidae, by others to the Procyonidae, while still others have held that it should occupy a position intermediate between the bears and the proeyons. In this work, the author, by providing new materials of the giant panda, also attempts to determine the systematic position of this species.As to the determination of the systematic position of the giant panda, the following problems are involved, i.e., how to evoluate the differences of morphogenetic structures in the system of classification, and how to define the various categories of high grade taxa of taxonomic hierarchy. The category of high-grade taxa may be defined by five attributes, namely: the mode and pattern of evolution, timing of evolution, space of distribution, ecology and behavior, and functional morphology and physiology. There are new materials provided to determine the much discussed affinities of this species.Prom these standpionts, the systematic position of the giant panda is discussed. The aggregate of biological features shows that the giant panda should occupy a special position in the Arctoidea and should be placed in a monotypie family of its own, Ailuropodidae.

Based on the data of the hydrodynamic phenomena, sediment movement and historical investigation obtained along the Nantong-Yangzhou Canal, the process of development and evolution of navigation canal has been studied. Some efforts have been tried to establish the pattern of evolution of navigation canal network with locks and weirs on plain due to the hydrodynamic force generated by steamboat movement and the way of regulation of navigation canal of this kind.

本文利用岩石化学计算、作图和因子分析的方法,对内蒙古正镶白旗中生代火山盆地中侏罗系火山岩化学成分进行研究,并结合全岩稀土和铷锶同位素特征分析,得出了一些很有价值的地质信息,对于认识研究区火山岩成分特征有重要指导意义。研究结果表明,白旗侏罗纪火山岩系属钙碱性系列岩石,是同源岩浆经分异演化而成。化学成分具明显的演化规律。随岩浆分异程度的增加,硅碱逐渐增高,而铁镁则逐渐减少。岩石由偏中性逐渐变化为酸性。其原始岩浆主要来源于上地幔和下地壳的共同混溶作用。
