Traditional electroslag remelting technology has the disadvantages of polluting environment and extremely high specific power consumption. In this research work two new slag systems, i.e. L-4 and F-3 have been developed. It has been proved that the new systems have a lot of advantages by measuring and analysing the fluorine content in furnace gas during the remelting process, the spee-ciflc power consumption and melt rate, and by determining the variation of the chemical elements and slag composition along the ingot longitudinal axis, the mechanical properties, the oxygen and oxide inclusion, the behaviors of hydrogen, the densities, and so on.In this paper, the reasons for decreasing the specific power consumption and for raising the melt rate were fully discussed in adopting the new slag systems; the mechanism of the formation of the different electrode tip shape for the new technology was qualitively analysed and the formula for calculating the slag resistance (impedance) was derived as follows:

The modeling technique and well testing technique in the field are in progress. We only focus attention on contaminant migration in sa tura ted Non-Indura ted geological deposits in this paper.
