The article analyzes the main environmental issues caused by exploitation of terrestrial heat resources: earthquake, land subsidence, exhaustion of terrestrial heat resources, pollution by harmful composition of terrestrial heat water, heat pollution etc. , and proposed control recommendations.
In order to sufficiently utilize the ample geothermal water resource, geothermal water is accordingly treated as per its specific application requirements. The processes of iron removal with the combination of two stage alkalization and aeration, desulfurization with ozone and fluorine removal through activated bauxite adsorption is introduced, which will achieve iron removal rate over 85%, fluorine removal rate over 92% and sulfide removal rate not less than 90%. The treated water quality meets relative standards.
During the exploitation of oilfield geothermal resources,the application of couple-well heating system can increase the exploitive profit,avoid the waste of geothermal water and achieve the purpose of sustainable development.
