The Fourth Wuhan Hanjiang Bridge is a single tower prestressed concrete cable stayed bridge.There were 14 bored piles with 3 m diameter and 56 m long for the tower pier.Collapse appeared when the No.9 Pile at the tower pier was drilled to the elevation.The drill bit,rod and duct were all buried in the hole.By processing of cast off rocks,mud jacking and extending pile,it was proved that the pile was up to the demand through the detection of the pile.

武汉市江汉四桥为一座独塔不对称预应力混凝土斜拉桥。主塔墩基础采用 14 根直径为3m 的钻孔灌注桩,桩长56 m 。其中主塔墩9 号桩在钻至标高时突然塌孔,将钻头、钻杆、导管等全部埋入孔中。采用下部抛石、压浆、接桩方案进行处理后,经桩基检测,认为该桩符合要求,可以使用。

This paper reports the examples of the applications of long auger boring, conical twist rock|drilling bit and mud|jacking bored pile technique to the rock foundations. This has made a breakthrough for the first time in China at the forbidden zone of constructing a long auger bored pile embedded in rock, which provides a reliable and high|efficiency method of constructing a pile foundation embedded in rock in the future.
