This method for the determination of TFPT was more rational than that in which the control was rutin, and the color reagent was aluminium nitrate sodium nitrite sodium hydroxide or aluminium trichloride.

Objective: UV spectrophotometry method was developed for the flavonoids in Tabellae Acanthopanacis Senticosi. Methods: Rutin was used as comparison, aluminium nitrate sodium aluminium nitrate was used as color developing agent, at the wavelength of 500 nm. Results: The linear curves was fine between the concentration range 0.002~0.024 mg/ml ( r =0.992 5, n =7). The average rate of recovery was 99.6% (RSD=1.86%). Conclusion: This method is accurate.
