The result shows that sulfur capacity is 28.7% for E 2 and 6.7% for H 4. Comprehensive sulfur capacity reached 14.1% when two columns were arranged in series and E 2, H 4 absorbents were loaded respectively. Odorant from petroleum refining whose concentration of sulfur compounds is below 1 000 mg/L has been effectively treated.

The sample at first passes into a polar CEF column (COL. 1) in which saturates and olefines are eluted while aromatics is retained. Olefines and saturates pass through an AD-l column (COL. 2) where olefines are adsorbed at lower temperature (80℃), and saturates are detected as a single peak. Then the valve is switched to backflush the aromatics. After all of the aromatics are eluted from the polar CEF column, the valve is switched back to its original position and the AD-1 column is heated up to 200℃. Olefines are then eluted as a single peak. The total-analysis time is less than 30 min. Fig. 2 is a typical chromatogram for such analysis. Due to the fact that AD-1 adsorbent has high thermostability, adsorptive power and desorption efficiency(>98%), both accuracy and reproducibility are good enough for the routine analysis. Under the operating conditions the lifetime of AD-1 column can reach 400 sample injections.

Based on the simulation results, a binary distillation column was proposed in this paper, an analysis for the process was performed and the correlation variables between the two towers, the top flow rate from the high pressure tower and its reflux, were determined. Under the conditions that the tower pressure and bottom flow rate from the high pressure tower were given, taking comprehensive benefit as optimizing object, reflux ratio between two columns as decision variable, the optimization calculation was performed with one-dimension fixed step search method and the operating conditions for the binary distillation column were determined. The optimization results show that compared with the one-column distillation process, the binary distillation column with the operating pressure 34.34 N/cm 2 and reflux 1.1 in high pressure tower and mormal pressure and reflux ration 3.2 in low pressure tower can save energy by 32%,save steam consumption by 28%, increase thermodynamic efficiency by 4.39%. The binary distillation column has been confirmed to be an effective energy saving one.
