Differential allocation of resources is a ubiquitous principle in both the natural environment and the human society. Differential allocation of resources is a ubiquitous principle in both the natural environment and the human society. It brings about either balance among biological entities, which is represented by bio-diversity, or in-balance between human and other biological species that evolve to the disintegration of certain species and bio-singularity. While differential allocation of resources among humans and between human and other bio-species gives rise to inequality in life and, therefore, biological and social crises, it also elevates humans above the rest of the biosphere and propels mankind to progress. As a result, sustainable development, which holds equality to life as a principle and intends to rid mankind of poverty, has also faced the philosophical predicament: mankind needs to live on, society has to move forward, and that requires the differential allocation of resources and subsequent in-equality to life. In the biosphere, resources are differentially allocated to various species according to the nutrition position known as food chain with the ″minimalist approach ″- least resources are allocated to each species. Between mankind and other species, maximum resources are allocated to humans due to unlimited demand and the overpowering advantage of humans in the ability to obtain resources. Among humans, social resources are differentially allocated according to systems, social structures and status, natural baselines, and historical inheritance. The privileged class of the populations, nations, and civilizations constantly expands this gap and differentiation from the disadvantageous class of the poor without restrains. Thus, the foundation of in-equality to life lies not in the differential allocation of resources itself, but in the lack of its restrains, especially in the area of differential maximum. Equality to life is not absolute in terms of resource allocation and limited differential allocation is actually necessary- sustainable development will escape its predicament in theory when relativity is equally granted to all lives. Ecological policy for implementing harmonious relationship between ″super group ″ and ″small group ″, between ″long surviving group ″ and ″short surviving group ″ will ensure resource sharing among generations (K-species), intra-generation usage (R-species), and therefore the generational balance of the ecosystem. The loss of relational balance in the ecosystem (the incompatibility between ″long surviving group ″ and ″super group ″), on the other hand, will create an on-going crisis of ecological pressure for mankind to avoid abolishment and racial sustenance. Evolution pressure is a necessity, development pressure is a rationale, but numerical and demand pressure is unethical and irrational. Unfortunately, human history has been one in which mankind has propelled itself from diversity to numerical expansion and demand explosion, a sharp contest to nature. Therefore, population reduction and human demand restraint have become the critical measure and avenue in restraining maximum differential allocation of resources, achieving life equality, and escaping from the philosophical predicament of sustainable development.
