tert-Butyl 4-methyl-3,5-dihydoxyhexanoate was synthesized from ethyl 2-methyl-3-oxobutanoate via ethyl 2-methyl-3-hydroxylbutanoate and tert-butyl 5-hydroxy-4-methyl-3-oxohexanoate in 38% overall yield.
Peroxidase-catalyzed oxidation of o-phenylene diamine (OPD) was competitively inhibited by trimethylhydroquinone (TMHQ), 4-tert-butylpyrocatechol (InH5), and 4,6-di-tert-butyl-3-sulfanyl-1,2-dihydroxybenzene (InH6).
Radioprotectants of acute (indralin) and durable effects (indomethaphen) as well as natural α2-tocopherol) and synthetic antioxidants (ionol or 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol) efficient in survival test were used.
The dynamics of total protein and procollagen biosynthesis was studied in the muscle tissue in gunshot wound during the natural healing and after treatment with antioxidant (AO) 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol (BHT).
A new initiator system, di-tert-butyl peroxide in the presence of MgO or BaO, has been proposed for the telomerization of tetrafluoroethylene with lower aliphatic alcohols. Comparative studies showed that the presence of BaO enhanced the rate of telomerization and increased the total yield of telomers, as well as lowered the average molecular weight of telomers. This effect is decreased in the following order: methanol > ethanol > iso-propyl alcohol. The telomerization was studied over a wide ran...
In view of the effectiveness of bis(3,5-dichloro-2-hydroxyphenyl) sulphide (Bithionol, Ⅱ_b) in the treatment of human paragonimiasis and its protective action against the cercariae of Schistosoma mansoni, a series of analogous compounds was prepared in the present work for pharmacological examinations. 2,2'-Dihydroxy-5,5'-diphenyl sulphide (Ⅱ_a) was chlorinated by means of tert-butyl hypochlorite, or brominated by means of either bromine or N-bromosuccinimide, giving mono- or di-substituted deri...
This paper presents the effect of different initiators and solvents on the anionic polymerization of tert-butyl-vinylketone. An amorphous polymer was obtained with softening point at 140-180° when the title monomer was polymerized with n-butyl lithium as anionic initiator in a homogenous phase with pyridine or tetrahydrofuran as solvent, while that in a heterogenous phase such as benzene, toluene, xylene or n-heptane it would give crystalline and probably isotactic polymer with melting poi...
