Oral English teaching is a critical part for college English education. College students are expected to master good oral English communication skills and competency. This paper clarifies the idea of student -orientation and roles and tasks of teachers, and furthers to explore the means to improve oral English competency from perspectives of strengthening listening, pronunciation, and cross-culture communication capabilities.

口语教学是大学英语教学中的一个难题,社会的发展又要求高校学生具有良好的语言运用能力和口语交际能力。本文首先明确了口语教学以学生为中心、师生的角色和任务,然后从具体实践出发,探讨了从加强听力训练、语音语调训练、课内外活动、培养跨文化交际能力等方面,有效提高口语教学效果的途径。
