The shell of the heart pacemaker is made of titanium (TA1 or TA2) sheet of 0.5 mm in thickness with a drawing coefficient of about 0.27 (m=d/D0).The shell is difficult to form by conventional drawing because of the great deformation and the mechanical properties of the titanium sheet.It has been proved by experiments to be a successful practice to have the shell formed in two operations which consist of a drawing under temperatures varying in different parts and a sizing.Considering that the mechanical p.roperties of the titanium sheet change with temperatures and character of drawing deformation,the material may be given greater drawing ability by heating the flange and effectively cooling the wall,thus building up a great difference in temperatures between them. .This paper devotes a discussion to two approximations by which to unfold the blank,and brings forward approximation formulae.An anisotropic effect has been found in the process of experiments.On the basis of theory and practice,the writer gives an explanation to the appropriate arrangement of the blank on the plane of the titanium sheet

Medium silicon-molybdenum heat resistant nodular cast iron is a quite good material qualified for dies used in titanium sheet hot forming.Its machinablity,service life of dies at high temperatures and shrinkage characteristic have been tested,and some useful conclusions and formulas for die design are obtained.

中硅钼耐热球墨铸铁是钛板热压成形较好的模具材料,本文就其切削加工性能、高温下的使用寿命、以及缩尺系数等进行了试验,得出了相应的结论和计算公式,以供模具设计时参考。
