Recently, optical image processing with its ability for parallel-processing, large data capacity and low cost has become a prominent branch ofimage processing techniques. In this paper, a halftone technique applied to equi-density-level-slicing of wider density thickness in order to isolate the specifieddensity area of an input image is described. This method is different from whathad been used previously where an one-dimensional-halftone screen (S_2) consistingof rectangular halftone cells (1) is chosen. The halftone screen (S_1) here chosenconsists of halftone cells with nonmonotonic and abruptly jumping characteristicwhich can perform pulse-frequency-modulation on the input, thereby, the transfor-mation from the specified density to the special frequency is achieved. Thus, byusing a quasi-coherent processing system, the special filtering to abstract the spe-cified density areas can be accomplished. The hard-clipping preprocessing consists ofusing the halftone screen of fundamental frequency 7.51p/mm, spatial-frequency-product 450, ‘So’high-contrast film alld ‘D’_8 developer. The experimental results ofthe equidensity abstracted from a satellite remote sensing image are shown in thepictures. What we want to achieve by level slicing is an ideal rectangular intensitytransfer function (ITF). But since the hard-clipping property of the film used isby no means ideal and the line blooming is unavoidable in halftone picture, the level slicing ITF actually obtained had to be much degraded. In this work, the levelslicing ITF of the one-step film copying process of S_1、S_2 and the slice densitythickness are measured experimentally. The degree of degradation of ITF for S_1、S_2is determined individually by comparison with the ideal ITF. The comparison of thelevel slicing performed by S_1,S_2 demonstrates that the quality of level slicing ITFhas been improved and the line blooming has been reduced. Judged by the experi-mental results of the equidensity abstracted from the satellite remote sensing image,the corresponding boundaries of grey steps are clear. This proves that these slicesare independent and there is no cross over. Therefore, the original purpose of iso-lating the specified density area has been achieved. From this work we see this meth-od of level slicing by using halftone technique may be successfully applied in otherregions.

In this paper, a method for implementing the system identification by utilizing the computer simulation output is presented. It is a conceptional method and is called " Computational System Identification" here. The main point of the method is to use computer simulation models and methods instead of real systems (or test models) and test methods,and to realize the original purpose of the normal system identification studies. Herein, the computer simulation models refer to the complex mathematical models which describe the complex systems arid are computerized. As for the mathematical models to be identified, they are simple and can reflect by and large the behaviour features of the complex systems.Linking the method with the work of structural modelling, the identification results of an engineering example are reported. In addition, to carry out the optimizing task of the physical parameters of structures a modified simplex method to solve the minimization problems with restraints is introduced.

本文提出了利用计算机模拟输出实施系统识别的方法,并把这种概念性方法称之为“计算系统识别”。其基本点是,用计算机仿真模型和方法替代通常系统识别研究中的真实系统(或模拟试验系统)和试验方法那一部分,而实现通常系统识别研究的原定目标。联系结构模型化工作,文中报告了一例安全壳结构弯剪梁模型的识别结果。文章还介绍了一个解有约束极小化问题的修正单纯形法,用以完成结构物理参数的寻优任务。
