To evaluate the efficiency and safty of cottonseed (gossypol<0.05%)contain- ing Bt-protein from Bt-transgenic cotton plant resistant to insect,as feed for fish,a 12- week chronic toxicity test was conducted with Cypinus carpio using diets containing 30%(by weight) processed cottonseed meal from the insect resistant and normal cotton plant. No deleterious effects on carp growth and development were observed by investigating be- havior,weight gain rate,feed efficency and survive rate of fish,No significant differences(P<0.05)in the blood indexes such as WBC、Hb,GPT,BUN and the rate of micronucle- us of red corpusles were found.NO pathological changes were found in organs such as liv- er,kidey,intestines,heart ect.of carp in both test groups and control groups byhistopathology examination,Also,no differences(P>0.05)were observed in the organrelative weight between test groups and the control groups. These results demonstrate thesafety of the cottonseed from Bt-transgenic cotton plant to water animals when used asfishery feed resources.

采用子房注射法,将构建在植物高效表达载体上的全序人工合成的Bt杀虫基因GFMCryIA转入棉花品种(系)“中棉所19”、“华农916”、“541”和“3517”中,获得对棉铃虫幼虫致死率在80%以上的植株29株。用PCR法检测,结果表明这些植株均呈阳性。在这29株阳性植株中,对棉铃虫致死率为100%,且自身只有轻微伤害的植株有26株。这说明Bt基因经改造,增加其提高转录与翻译能力的表达调控元件后,对棉铃虫的毒杀作用明显提高。
