The height anddbh growth was found to be closely related to the air temperature and precipitation- When thetemperature rose and rainfall increased, the height growth sped up. Temperature was the limitingfactor of dbh growth, but rainfall was not- Growth was promoted by phosphorus application. Aclose spacing of 2 m by 2 m at the ear lystag eproduced more growth in height and stocking thana sparse spacing. No significant difference in growth was noticed with site preparation methods.The trees showed a better growth on middle - slope, straightly -sloping and slowly-slopingsites than on bottom-slope, hollowly-sloping and abruptly-sloping sites.
