Application of RST in Shengli Oilfield shows that RST is better than conventional C/O log not only in accuracy, resolution and dynamic range, but in water/oil contact evaluation and the calculation of oil saturation, etc. .

The recognition of systems tract depends on the stacking pattern of parasequence sets. Gamma ray log curve pattern is smooth column shape with l og curve value abrupt change on upper and lower boundary for basin floor fan of lowstand systems tract (LST), serrated oval shape for slope fan of LST, serrat ed funnel shape for prograding complex of LST, serrated bell shape for transgr essive systems tract (TST), and column funnel shape for highstand systems trac t (HST).In diplog arrow plot, the colored pattern is random for LST, red pattern for TST, and green blue pattern for HST. A condensed section is characterized by high gamma ray response, low resistivity, high U, Th, K counts in spectral ga mma ray, and lower dip green pattern in diplog arrow. A sequence boundary is a d iscontinuous plane, which can be determined by random or break pattern in diplog arrow plot and lower U, Th, K counts in spectral gamma ray. In log curves, the recognition of sequences may be uncertain, the order of sequences may be differe nt, and the sequences apart from wellbore are guessed. So the combination with o ther data, specially with seismic data and high resolution biostratigraphy is an available method for sequence stratigraphic analysis. This method has been appl ied to and opproved by the log data in a half graben like sag in the East China Sea.

测井资料层序识别是层序地层分析的基础之一。在测井曲线上 ,准层序、体系域和层序具有不同的响应特征。准层序界面表现为测井值、岩层厚度或岩性发生了突变。体系域的识别取决于准层序的叠加样式 ,在自然伽马测井曲线上 ,盆底扇以光滑柱形显示 ,上下界面处测井曲线发生突变 ;斜坡扇以齿状卵形显示 ,前积复合体以齿状漏斗形显示 ,水进体系域以齿状钟形为特征 ,高水位体系域以柱形 漏斗形为特征。在地层倾角矢量图上 ,低水位体系域以乱模式显示 ,水进体系域以红模式显示 ,高水位体系域以绿 蓝模式显示。密集段以高自然伽马、低电阻率、高U、Th、K记数率和小倾角绿模式为特征。层序界面在地层倾角矢量图上表现为能够确定为不连续面的乱或断模式 ,以及低的U、Th、K记数率。针对在测井曲线上层序识别的多解性、层序级别划分的不一致性以及离开井眼范围的推测性 ,提出多种资料的有效结合 ,特别是同地震资料及高分辨率古生物资料的结合 ,是进行层序地层分析的有效方法。以东海某箕状凹陷的一口井为例 ,验证了该方法的有效性
