This paper improves the efficiency of the codebook training and encoding speed by modifying the technique of codebook initializing and the search processing of encoding. Both the compression speed and reproduction quality are satisfactory. The results of experiment on standard test images show that the speed is raised by 2. 6 times while the SNR decreases slightly.

本文改进了矢量量化的码书设计方法和编码的搜索过程,大大提高了矢量码书的训练效率和编码速度,获得了满意的压缩速度和效果。通过对标准测试图象的测试,速度平均提高了2.6倍,而信噪比却下降很少。
