The author deems during the period from the postwar to the beginning of 1980s, due to the increase of requirements of society, the museum have changed from previous collection-storing institution into one with collection, education and research as its purpose. In the society where knowledge holds sway, the function of museums are more conspicuous, with the rapid development of scientific technology in recent 30 years, except for tradi tional schools, all the social and cultural institutions have proved to be necessary means to carry out education. As one of them, museums have provided the most meaningful knowledge and new information to people and opportunities for the practice of popular scientific technology and arts. Museums have broken the rule of "Dont touch the exhibits" and provided visitors with more and perfected conditions for practice.

This paper summaizes comprehensively the work of artistic design of the Exhibition on the History of Chinese Revolution. The author of the paper rhinks that the artistic design should include exhibition equipments, entrance hall, major setting and large supplementary exhibits. The paper centers on how to improve the design of major setting and large supplementary exhibits through variety of artistic forms. It also discusses how to enhance the artistic appeal of exhibitions.

本文较全面的总结了《中国革命史陈列》的艺术设计工作。作者认为陈列的艺术设计应该由陈列设备,序幕厅、重点场景和大型辅助展品三个主要方面构成。本文重点介绍了以多样的艺术形式,加强重点场景和大型辅助展品的设计,在如何增强陈列的艺术感染力方面进行了有益的探索。
