According to meteorological data observed from vast areas of the tropical Pacific during the winter of 1985-1986, the sea surface meteorological data of two latitude sections (140 °E-160 °W, 21 °N; 141°30'E-170 °W, 0°) and three longitude sections (130°E, 165°E and 170 °W between 10°N-6°S) are analysed.The analysed results show that the demarcation lines of the variance of the marine meteorological elements with the meridian are mostly at 170°E and the difference between the elements on the two sides of...

According to meteorological data observed from vast areas of the tropical Pacific during the winter of 1985-1986, the sea surface meteorological data of two latitude sections (140 °E-160 °W, 21 °N; 141°30'E-170 °W, 0°) and three longitude sections (130°E, 165°E and 170 °W between 10°N-6°S) are analysed.The analysed results show that the demarcation lines of the variance of the marine meteorological elements with the meridian are mostly at 170°E and the difference between the elements on the two sides of this line is remarkable. Due to the influence of the southern steady subtropical high pressure over the ocean, the northwest trade wind prevails in the central region of 21 °N (170° E-160°W). The western region of 21°N (140°E-170°E) is not only under the influences of the denatured high pressure which comes from the continent and moves to the sea, and the processes produced by merged high pressures, but is also influenced by warm water from the tropical western Pacific. The western -legion has high air and water temperature, high humidity, low air pressure, much cloudiness and large wind speed,wind wave and swelling. Closer to the equator, the above mentioned difference become more unobvious.In this paper, it is pointed out that temperature difference between sea and air in the central region along 21°N is smaller and increases toward two sides, but is opposite in the equatorial region, i.e. it is bigger in the mid equatorial region and decreases toward two sides, especially obviously decreasing towards the east where a region of zero value appears.

本文主要根据1985—1986年冬季热带太平洋大面积海洋气象调查资料,初步分析了热带太平洋中、西部海区海面气象要素基本特征。指出热带太平洋海面气象要素随经度而变化的规律性是比较明显的。一般是以170°E为界,其东、西两侧变化趋势基本相反,离开赤道越远,要素的经向变化越显著,在赤道上要素的经向变化最小。并指出北太平洋副热带高压及西太平洋赤道辐合带是形成上述规律的主要原因。

In the present paper, the formation and development processes of the 1986-1987 ENSO event are analysed based on recent atmosphere ocean data of the tropical Pacific. The results showed that obvious changes in the equatorial SST anomalies, the mean-sea-level height anomalies, the zonal wind index, southern oscillation index, the outbound long-wave radiation index, the teleconnection type of the general circulation of atmosphere and the Western Pacific Subtropical High, etc.occurred during the 1986-1987...

In the present paper, the formation and development processes of the 1986-1987 ENSO event are analysed based on recent atmosphere ocean data of the tropical Pacific. The results showed that obvious changes in the equatorial SST anomalies, the mean-sea-level height anomalies, the zonal wind index, southern oscillation index, the outbound long-wave radiation index, the teleconnection type of the general circulation of atmosphere and the Western Pacific Subtropical High, etc.occurred during the 1986-1987 ENSO event.The warm anomaly of the SST occurred during autumn in the northern hemisphere (Sep.1986) , initially occurring at the Date Line area of the Central Equatorial Pacific and then develop rapidly to the east, and did not occur in the general way, in which anomalous heating occurs during spring in the northern hemisphere and develops from the South American coast to the west.It is deemed that this was a medium-strength ENSO event.

本文利用近期热带太平洋大气—海洋实测资料,对起始于1986年9月的厄尔尼诺(EI-Ni(?)o)-南方涛动(ENSO)事件作了初步分析,发观亦道太平洋月际STS距平、纬向风指数、平均海平面高度距平、南方涛动指数、地球射出长波辐射、大气环流遥相关型和西太平洋副热带高压等在这次ENSO事件发生前后均有显著变化。作者指出,这次ENSO事件中,赤道太平洋海温异常增暖不是象通常那样发生在春季和由南美沿岸向西发展,而是发生在秋季,且首先出现在中赤道太平洋日界线区,而后迅速向东发展,从海温异常增暖的强度和持续时间来看,这次ENSO事件基本属一次中等强度过程。

Using the Complex Emperieal Orthogonal Function(CEOF) technique, the temporal and spatial structures on tne winter sea-level pressure (1899 ~1980) on the Northern Pacific have been analyzed in this paper.It is obvious that the doninat feature might be the existence of two quasi-permanent atmospheric active centers (the Alutian Low and the Tropical Pacific High) over this area. Using the Complex Emperieal Orthogonal Function(CEOF) technique, the temporal and spatial structures on tne winter sea-level pressure (1899 ~1980) on the Northern Pacific have been analyzed in this paper.It is obvious that the doninat feature might be the existence of two quasi-permanent atmospheric active centers (the Alutian Low and the Tropical Pacific High) over this area. The second feature might be the spatial wave which appears as a progressive wave in the area. The direction of the wave movment approximated from northwest to southeast. The third one might be the opposive sign existed between the abnormals of sea-level pressure over the high and the low latitute areas.

本文用复经验正交函数(CEOF)分析方法,研究了1899~1980年北太平洋冬季海平面气压场的时空结构,指出北太平洋中部的高、低纬度地区分别为二个半永久性大气活动中心(阿留申低压和副热带高压)。并指出该地区的空间波是一行波,其传播方向是自西北向东南的准纬向方向,且高低纬度地区气压距平变化是反位相关系。 采用多维谱分析方法,探讨了各季节的南方涛动指数(SOI)与气压场的振荡特性,结果表明它们之间存在准3.5年的耦合振荡,且以南方涛动变化超前气压场为主要特点,冬季更为显著。
