The systemic investigations reveal that the severity of red leaf blight of transgenic Bt cotton variety is higher than that of non-Bt cotton variety,the disease incidence and index of transgenic Bt cotton variety are 47.95%～79.45% and 12. 95～28. 25, respectively and those of non-Bt cotton variety are 32. 12%～55. 06% and 9.09～15.75,respectively.
Symptoms induced by Y10 or Y35 with their cognate DNAβ were different from those induced by co-infection with heterogenous DNAβ, and high pathogenicity was found in plants inoculated with Y10β and Y35. Southern blot analysis indicated that no direct co-relation existed, between symptom severity and virus and satellite accumulation levels in plants. PCR and Southern blot analyses showed that the heterogenous DNAβ. could not be detected in N.
Intact chloroplasts from infected rice leaves that expressingdifferent symptoms were made after being infected by RSV. Thentotal protein of chloroplasts was extracted separately. The change ofthe accumulation of CP and SP from protoplasts in different severityof symptom were detected by Western-blot to analyze therelationship between the changes and the severity of symptom whenusing antiserum of CP and SP as probes.
