 In addition, a time-saving computational method for reliability index of elastic-plastic materials is suggested based upon the advanced First Order Second Moment (FOSM) and by the usage of Taylor expansion for displacement. The proposed procedure employs a first order second moment (FOSM) method for evaluating the constraints associated with structural safety. It is shown that using a simplified probabilistic framework (socalled First Order Second Moment), some classical solutions for optimal layout remain valid. Probability of failure of the bridge deck is determined by the First Order Second Moment (FOSM) method of reliability. The statistical moments calculated from the performance function values and the corresponding gradients using neural network were then used in the first order second moment method for the calculation of the reliability index in slope safety analysis. 更多
 For the practical purposes this paper presents an improved approach to the first order-second moment method proposed by Paloheimo and Hannus in 1972 for the structural reliability analysis. In this improved method, an iterative scheme for calculating the safety index β and a direct procedure for calculating the mean resistance mR or characteristic resistance RK under the target safety index βK in the case of the linear limit state equation containing the non-normal basic variables are developed....
