Autoclave-sterilized and filter-sterilized garlic juice were examined for their effects on the growth and adhesive ability of S. mutans and S.sobrinus, and on the activity of crude glucosyl-transfcrasc-C(Gtase-C). It was found the garlic juice had no inhibiting effect on activity of Gtasc-C, the autoclave-sterilized garlic juice had no inhibiting effect on the experimental bacteria, whereas the filter-sterilized garlic juice caused a significant inhibition on experimental bacteria.

对变形链球菌遗传型Ⅰ型 mutans JBP 和Ⅲ型 sobrinus6715的产酸性和耐酸性进行了实验研究。发现两种菌在4种糖的各个培养液中经24小时的终末 pH 均能达5.0,Ⅲ型6715产生的有机酸总量显著高于Ⅰ型 JBP(P<0.01)。在相差0.5 pH,从 pH 3.5到 pH 8.0的系列培养液中,经24小时的终末pH和细菌生长量表明,在酸性环境中.变链Ⅲ型6715继续降低 pH 的能力和生长总量都大于变链Ⅰ型 JBP(P<0.05)。以上结果提示,变链Ⅲ型 sobrinus 以其很强的产酸和耐酸性能,对龋病的活跃性可能有重要作用。
