Three new species of fleas are herewith decribed from different regions of China.A series of specimens of Frontoptylla aspiniformis sp. nov. was collected from Ochotonadaurica, Citellus dauricus and Myospalax fontanieri from Kansu and Shensi. A pair of Ctenophthalmus quadratus sp. nov. was taken from a nest of an undetermined wildrodent from western Yunnan. The name of the new species is used to denote the characteristic squareshape of the posterior lobe of the immovable process of the clasper. The new species is allied toCtenophthalmus yunnanus Jord. 1932 and Ct. formosana Svihla 1942. Three pairs of fleas misidentified, redescribed and figured in 1956 (egg, larval and pupal stagesdescribed) as Stenopnia sidimi Marik. collected from the nests of Apodemus agrarius in Shanghaiare recently rechecked and found to be a new species. It is named Stenoponia shanghaiensis nov. sp.and it is closely allied to S. sidimi. A table showing the differential characteristics of the two Steno-ponia is given.' Holotypes (males) and allotypes (females) of the three new species are all deposited in theCollection of the Military Academy of Medical Sciences. Paratypes of Frontopsylla aspiniformis aredeposited in the National Institute of Parasitology, Shanghai and the Northwestern AgriculturalCollege, Shensi. In this paper, we aim principally to show its application to general elasticity (elasticity of generalized media, polar elasticity, or called no-linear asymmetric elasticity in some literatures). A generalized Euler's Kinematic formula is first derived by using the theory [1], it is seen that the method of intrinsic comoving coordinates for deformable body is a natural extension of that method... In this paper, we aim principally to show its application to general elasticity (elasticity of generalized media, polar elasticity, or called no-linear asymmetric elasticity in some literatures). A generalized Euler's Kinematic formula is first derived by using the theory [1], it is seen that the method of intrinsic comoving coordinates for deformable body is a natural extension of that method of moving coordinates used in rigid body dynamics. By means of the theorems of momentum and moment of momentum,and the principles of conservation of mass and energy, we found the fundamental equations of general elasticity, certain improvements have been made in comparison with the works of Eringen and Nowacki in polar elasticity. Some of the applications will be left for subsequent papers. Due to the interests in mining and military, we pay special attention in the Appendix to the finite motion of one dimensional shock wave in rock. Theoretical results obtained were used to the interpretations of the equal velocity paradox in shock wave attenuation which was noted by Rinehart, to the tensile fracture phenomena caused by the trailing part ,of . compressive shock wave, and to the influence of couple stress.
