ESR is one of the most effective means of removing non-metallic inclusions from steel. Much controversy exists regarding the mechanism of slag removal in ESR process.The ESR process consists of three stages: 1) Formation of dropets on the electrode tip; 2) Droplets falling through the slag; 3) Collection of the metal in a pool at the top of the ingot.In order to find out which is the main step in the refining process, samples are taken from the solid electrode, the molten film on the electrode tip, metal droplets in the slag layer and the final ingot, and quantitative determination of inclusions made by metallographic, chemical and radioisoto pic (indicator zr~((?)5)O_2) methods.From the results obtained it is concluded that the removal of non-metallic Inclusions occurred mainly at the electrode tip.Results of experiments on industrial furnaces have confirmed the above conclusion.

在现代电冶金中,电渣重熔是有效地去除钢中非金属夹杂物主要手段之一。但电渣重熔去除夹杂物机理的研究还存在着分岐。电渣重熔有三个阶段:1.电极端头熔滴形成期;2.熔滴滴落穿过渣池阶段;3.铸锭顶端液态金属熔池凝固阶段。为了查明哪一阶段是精炼主要阶段。我们制取了自耗电极原始金属;电极端头金属熔化薄膜;渣池中的金属熔滴及凝固铸锭金属试样。用金相法,化学分析法及放射性同位素(Zr~(95)O_2)方法测定各阶段提纯效果及夹杂物去向。研究得出结论:电渣重熔去除钢中非金属夹杂物主要发生在电极熔化端头。上述结论在工业试验中得到进一步验证。

This paper describes the research work and production practice of separation of a lead-zinc sulphide ore by electroflotation. The ore treated was a polymetallic sulphide ore.The ore contained 2% Pb,4% Zn and a certain amount of pyrite,the principal minerals being galena,sphalerite and pyrite.Galena amounted to 80% in minus 0.06 mm size fraction,dissoluting pyrite and sphalerite. This paper describes the research work and production practice of separation of a lead-zinc sulphide ore by electroflotation. The ore treated was a polymetallic sulphide ore.The ore contained 2% Pb,4% Zn and a certain amount of pyrite,the principal minerals being galena,sphalerite and pyrite.Galena amounted to 80% in minus 0.06 mm size fraction,dissoluting pyrite and sphalerite. The plant adopted a differential flotation flowsheet to treat this type of ore before the use of electroflotation.The metallurgical results achieved were as follows: the grade of lead concentrate 45.64%(as pyrite contained a certain amount of gold and no separation was made,thus having a low grade of lead concentrate),lead recovery 82.81%;zinc concentrate assaying 59.98%,and recovery 81.88%. Flotation research by means of several types of electrodes showed that the lead- zinc complex mineral was separated successfully through the depression on zinc mineral,without the use of regulators,depressants and other reagents.The effect of copper-carbon electrode was better,zinc-carbon electrode being second.Electroflotation could also be used for separating copper-sulfur(pyrite)bulk concentrate.The bulk concentrate contained lead from 29.47% to 32.56%.The content of the lead concen- trate after separation was between 54.60% and 57.06%,the lead recovery being up to 97-98%. The flowsheet of differential flotation by use of zinc-carbon electrode at a plant has brought about good results in treating the above ore.The lead concentrate grade increased to 41.33%(no separation of pyrite;if separated,60% could be obtained), with a recovery of 87.29%;zinc concentrate containing 59.85% Zn,with a recovery of 83.28%. The above results show that the electroflotation method is effective in separating the lead-zinc mineral.The metallurgical results achieved are equal to or slightly hi- gher than those by using flotation reagents.Sodium carbonate,sodium sulphite,zinc sulphate and other reagents can be saved.The amounts of xanthate and copper su- lphate can be reduced by 35% and 60% respectively.The electroflotation technique is of benefit to a plant.

本文介绍了采用通电浮选实现铅锌硫化矿石的研究和实际应用结果。工业实践表明,应用通电浮选可使铅锌矿物有效分选,获得良好的技术经济效果。
