Sichuan oil and gas field, having been turned out to be one of the most important oil and gas fields in West China, is playing important role in driving "Petroleum in China" to develop rapidly and reasonably, meanwhile carrying out the strategy on "West-to-East Gas Pipeline" and guaranteeing national energy in safety. The total gas production in Sichuan Basin was over 13 billion m3 in 2006; while oil production 1.392 million tons there. If calculated by one ton crude oil the heat quantity of which equals to 1255 m3, the annual gas production would be more than 10 million tons of crude oil, which helps Sichuan oil and gas field become 10 million tons-level one in China with natural gas as her main source. Oil and gas exploration in Sichuan Basin has also obtained 6 items of important discoveries and another 6 items of new developments, with total drill footage in 2006 of 9.4 million m. Sichuan oil and gas field has made best winning in her history with the newly-added explored reserves, the controlled reserves, and the predicted reserves all up to 100 billion m3. Both CNPC Sichuan Petroleum and PetroChina Oil & Gasfield Company have worked together in cooperation these years, keeping the concept of "harmonious development" in their minds, insisting on HSE working principle, and taking great responsibility on building up harmonious enterprises.
