Presented here are differential-based gradient method and Laplace transform method which are used for laminating processing of seismic image. The laminating processing of seismic image can highlight the kinematical characteristics of seismic wave and favour lamination trac- ing. The processings of model diffraction record and of ultrasonic re- cord taken from a complex geological model show that gradient method and Laplace transform method favour highlighting reflection boundary and improving...

The processings of model diffraction record and of ultrasonic re- cord taken from a complex geological model show that gradient method and Laplace transform method favour highlighting reflection boundary and improving image clarity, but low-pass filtering is not suitable to complex image.

The application of K-L transform in seismic image processing is discussed. After the fundamental principle discussed, restrining the energy of non-coherent noise in K-L domain can enhance effictive characteristic coherent information in seismic image is demonstrated. The effect of the methods is demonstrated by the results which is obtained by caculating methimatic models.

The key to process vertical seismic profile (VSP) data is to separate upgoing and dovvngiong waves. This paper describes the singular value decomposition (SVD) technique for seismic image reconstruction, a new and feasible way to separate upgoing and downgoing waves in VSP data. Separated upgoing waves?downgoing waves, and noise sections have resulted from a set of theoretical model data respectively via the low-pass, band-pass ,and high-pass SVD filtering, which proved the validity of the SVD method....

Moreover, the fact that the separation of upgoing and downgoing waves is independent from irregularly sampled VSP data and inaccurate downgoing first arrivals was confirmed via a series of model experiments. Some applied examples related to zero and non-zero offset VSP data from a certain oilfield are also presented in the paper.
