For placer drilling a new method, known as the center sample recovery method, is under development abroad. The specifications of drilling tools, bit types, air current technical parameters, sample collection and division methods,and efficiency for this new placer drilling method are introduced in this paper. It has been also pointed out that this method can not be used for solid mineral sampling and to determine the stratal configuration elements and lithomechnical parameters by direct measurements are impossible.
