AIM:To design and assemble a kind of extension apparatus for strain testing d uring mandible distraction osteogenesis, and establish an animal model with simp ly operated strain testing during mandible distraction osteogenesis. METHODS:The extension apparatus for strain testing during mandible distractio n osteogenesis was self designed and assembled, and the osteotomy was completed on the same position of 12 rabbits at the junction of mandibular angle and body .The jaw extension apparatus adhered with strain gauge was used to tract mandibl es of rabbits.The encapsulation materials of urethanes and silastics were compar ed to find suitable encapsulation materials.The osteogenesis was observed after distraction with general and X ray observation. RESULTS:Distraction osteogenesis was carried out successfully on all the rabbi ts. The rabbits with silastics as the encapsulation material could transfer the strain signals successfully,while those with urethanes as the encapsulation mate rial could not do it well. CONCLUSION:The rabbit with silastics as the encapsulation material is an ideal animal model with strain testing during mandible distraction osteogenesis.

Methods: An animal model of bilateral mandibular distraction osteogenesis in rabbits was established. RhBMP-2 adhering to absorbable collagen sponge (ACS) was implanted to the right side of the mandible, while the left side was implanted with ACS as control. Animals were sacrified at the end of the 3rd and 5th weeks of the consolidation period. Radiographs were taken and tissue of the distraction gap was cut and examined by histology methods. Results: The rate of the new bone formation and the density of the rebirth bone trabeculae of the side treated by rhBMP-2 were superior to those of the control side. Conclusion: The rate and quality of new bone formation can be enhanced by local application of rhBMP-2, and mandible distraction osteogenesis can be promoted as well.

目的:研究重组人骨形成蛋白2(recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein2,rhBMP2)对兔下颌牵张成骨的作用。方法:建立兔下颌双侧牵张成骨动物模型,于下颌右侧骨断端间植入含有rhBMP2的可吸收胶原海绵(absorbable collagen sponge,ACS),左侧单纯应用ACS作为对照。分别于固定期第3、5周末处死动物,取标本行X线及组织学观察。结果:应用rhBMP2侧新骨形成的速度以及骨小梁的密度均高于对照。结论:局部应用rhBMP2能够提高牵张区新骨形成的速度和质量,对下颌牵张成骨具有促进作用。
