As a kind of advanced composite materials, 3-D braided composites have superior delamination resistance and impact tolerance. In this paper 4-step 3×2 braided composite specimens were formed by means of RTM (Resin Transfer Moulding) technique with vacuum assisted. A measurement was taken by means of experiment on the tensile properties of 3-D braiding uncut, cut and drilled composite specimens. The effect of cut fibres on the tensile strain of specimen edge was compared with that of uncut fibres. The stress concentration coefficient around hole was measured. The factors affecting tensile properties of 4-step composites and the reasons for failure were discussed. The results showed that with the braiding angle increased, the tensile mudulus and strength decreased. The tensile properties of cut and drilled specimens were inferior to that of uncut specimens. The stress concentration coefficient around hole of 4step composite materials was lower than that of laminates and metals. The tensile failure of 3-D braided composites appeared to be a result of fibre breakage with some evidence of fiber pullout.

三维编织复合材料作为一种高级的复合材料,抗分层、耐冲击能力强。本文用真空辅助RTM(树脂传递模塑)工艺合成了四步法3×2编织的复合材料试件,通过实验测定了三维编织复合材料未切割、受切割和钻孔试件的拉伸性能,对比了受切割和未切割纤维对于试件侧边拉伸应变的影响,测定了孔边应力集中系数,并且讨论了影响四步法复合材料拉伸性能的因素和断裂失效的原因。结果表明,随着编织角的增大,拉抻模量和拉伸强度减小;受切割和钻孔的试件拉伸性能低于未加工试件的性能;四步法复合材料的孔边应力集中系数比层板材料和金属材料的低;三维编织复合材料的拉伸失效主要是由纤维断裂以及纤维拉拔造成的。

As an advanced composite material, the 3D braided composite has received more and more attention in foreign countries. However, it has received less attention in China. The geometric unit cell which can describe the basic structure and the relationship between the braiding angle and geometric parameters of the fabric and fiber volume ratio are given in this paper based on two 3D braiding processes, namely, the four-step and the twostep ones. Several existing mechanical models to predict groperties of the 3D braided comPOsites are discussed and their shortcomings are pointed out herein. Then a new model called the inclined laminal combination model is proposed, which is based on the classical laminated plate theory and can predict the basic mechanical behavior of the two 3D braided composites with four-step or two-step braid. In the model, each yarn in the unit cell is regarded as an inclined laminate and then a 3D analysis is performed. It is found that the predicted mechanical properties of the 3D braided composites by the proposed model are compared well with the experimental data.

作为一种新型的高级复合材料,三维编织复合材料在国外已得到广泛重视,而国内则刚刚起步。本文结合三维编织的两种主要工艺,即四步法和二步法,给出了能反映其基本结构的几何单胞以及编织角与织物参数、纤维体积比之间的关系。对当前几种反映三维编织复合材料力学性能的力学模型进行了评估,并指出了其缺点。以经典层合板理论为基础,建立了能预报两种不同工艺的三维编织复合材料力学性能的基本力学模型,即倾斜层板组合模型。该模型将单胞中的每束纱线视为一倾斜层板,进行了三维分析。基本可以反映其真实性能,并将理论值与试验值作了对比,结果令人满意。

In this paper, a study was made on the properties of three dimensional and multidirectional braided composites with and without axial reinforcement under three braid stuctures 1×1,1×2 and 1×3. In this paper, a study was made on the properties of three dimensional and multidirectional braided composites with and without axial reinforcement under three braid stuctures 1×1,1×2 and 1×3. The tensile strength and modulus, flexural strength and modulus of the composites were tested and analyzed. The results show that the three dimensional braided composite has good behaviour, and the braid structures have a great influence on it. The fiber apparent angle and fiber volume fraction are two important factors in the improvement of properties. By means of adding in axially non braiding reinforced fibers, the properties of braided composites including tension and bending have been improved considerably.

本文采用1×1,1×2和1×3三种不同的编织结构对轴向增强和非增强三维多向编织复合材料的性能进行了研究。对编织复合材料的拉伸强度、刚度和弯曲强度、刚度进行了实验分析。结果表明:三维编织复合材料具有良好的性能。编织结构对复合材料性能有较大的影响。纤维表面编织角和纤维体积比是影响复合材料性能的重要结构参数。通过轴向加入非编织增强纤维,使编织复合材料的拉伸强度和模量,弯曲强度和模量有了较大改善。
