This volume declares that Qu Yuan composed Li Sao to his king as he ″couldn′t swerve from his loyalty to his king though he saw clearly the muddleheadidness of the sovereign of his, who made the mean people hold sway and thus put the state′s exixtence in peril.″ This is Ban Gu′s principle idea.
