Accordingly, A19 iodination of insulin molecule might lower theinherent immunoreactivity of the predominating antibody populations ofGP12 with low binding affinity. The significance of this phenomenon wasstressed that a radioiodinated tracer might have different bindingaffinity compared to native antigen against certain specific antisera aswell as specific receptors.Therefore, it is not likely that every antiserumwould be suitable for a RIA system designated for special purposes likeself-displacement.
