Brown et al. have been extended to the cases not only of H but also of Z and D for the stations both away and near the 5, focus. The time distribution when the maximum and minimum of D, H, Z occur at five stations in China and their seasonal and solar-cycle variations have been analysed. It is found that there is also the marked solar control of the day-to-day variability in the phase of the solar diurnal variation. The number of occasions when the phase of H, Z or D in quiet day is outstandingly anomalous show marked diurnal, seasonal, and solar-cycle variations. There are also inverse correlations between the abnormalities of Z and D and sunspot number. At Sheshan having the data for more than three solar-cycles, there is also linear correlation between the annual mean percentage number of occurrences of AQD (Zmax) in solar minimum year and the sunspot number in following sunspot maxima. So it is possible to predict the sunspot maxima even using the geomagnetism data of stations near the Sq focus.

This paper presents primary results observed on diurnal and seasonal variations of the 100 kHz Loran-C first-hop sky-wave over a west-east path of about 2880 km from Xinxiang for the time period June 1987-September 1988, and emphatically analysed solar control me-charisms of sky-wave amplitude and phase variations, sky-wave amplitudt drop and interferences.Results of analysis indicate that the relations of the sky-wave amplitude and phase with solar zenith angle x during the daytime are approximately...

This paper presents primary results observed on diurnal and seasonal variations of the 100 kHz Loran-C first-hop sky-wave over a west-east path of about 2880 km from Xinxiang for the time period June 1987-September 1988, and emphatically analysed solar control me-charisms of sky-wave amplitude and phase variations, sky-wave amplitudt drop and interferences.Results of analysis indicate that the relations of the sky-wave amplitude and phase with solar zenith angle x during the daytime are approximately proportional to cos x and P. lnsecx respectively.Successive analysis and explanation for results of observations imply that during the daytime the lower region of the low ionosphere composes of two layers: an upper one (D-layer) which causes the deviative reflection of a sky-wave and a lower one (C-layer) which overlaps partly with an upper layer and causes the non-deviative obsorption of a sky-wave.And it is also found that the C-layer is markedly more intense in summer and autumn than in winter and spring, and that besides the non-deviative obsorption it has caused the marked partial reflection of a sky-wave in summer and autumn

本文给出了1987年6月至1988年9月间在新多对琉璜岛罗兰-C导航发射台的100kHz低频信号一跳天波“影区”传播的日变化与季变化特性所做观测的基本结果并对其做了分析。通过分析揭示出了我国中纬地区低频天波远距离传播日变化、季变化、幅度跌落效应与干涉效应的产生机制与变化规律;还揭示了我国中纬地区白天低电离层所具有的双层结构特性:在D层下C层的存在以及它们的某些形态特性与季变特性。
