After 6 years of controlled study we can come to the conclusion that with reduced didactic lecture hours toegther with careful selection of tea- ching materials under the guidance of teachers,self-directed learning seems not only feasible but also essential for cultivation of studentr's capability in self-learning and application of knowledge Learned.

In order to foster physical education talent for the 21st century,the intelligence- faculty structure for specialized teachers of physical education normal colleges must be rational.
