A new fixation protocol was worked out whichpermitted the visualization of the substructure of marginal bundies in resting human platelets. This protocolinduded a preflxation with 0.1% glutaral dehyde in a half-strength polymerization mix buffer for 30 minutes,followed by a fixation mixture containing 1% glutaraldehyde and 2% tannie acid for 60 minutes and apost-fixstion in 0.1% osmium tetroxide for 15 minutes near the freezing point.
