With the development of hybrid rice technology, the parental reproduction technique has been gradually improved. Several methods presented for three line reproduction of hybrid rice were compared and discussed. Among them, the "Two-step Method" is too complicated; the "Three-grade Reproduction Method" is not reliable enough; the "Anther Culture Method" is beyond the scope of seed reproduction; the "Enzyme Selec- tion Method" can be used in identifying varietal typicalness; the "Genetically-purifying Method" is theoreti- cally and methodologically disputed; and the "Line - cycling Method" simplified and developed from the " Three - Line - Seven - Nursery Method" is most promising.

“株系循环法”及其变型(“自交混繁法”和“近交混繁法”),是应用于不同授粉方式的农作物原种生产新技术。它的主要特点是建立保种圃,逐步消除育种剩余变异,将“三圃制”中的株行圃和株系圃融为一体。应用众数选择对保种圃进行连续鉴定,并在开放授粉条件下混合繁殖。实践证明:“株系循环法”具有多快好省的优点,构成了农作物良种繁育新的技术体系。
