    According to the basic equations derived under the two assumptions by Harold Lauffer—(1) the energy head of every point of a vertical section remains constant,(2) the flow lines are concentric circular arcs,this paper qives a comprehensive deduction of curvature effect in the characteristics of free overflow of round-crested spillway.118 runs of experiments of three round-crested spillway models of different size have been conducted by the author.The experimental results check the derived equations basically.Some empirical equations have been prepared to facilitate the application of experimental data.The discharge coefficients of free overflow of 27 different profiles of 16 practical spillways obtained by model tests have also been collected to verify the curvature effect equatiohs given by this paper Their practical agreement is also acquired.

    In this paper,starting from the basic equation of a plane thermoelastic problemand based on-the displacement method,the derivation of boundary integral equationsand the discretization are briefly mentioned.The formulae which can be useddirectly to evaluate boundary stresses from the displacements and traction on theboundaries are derived.Numerical examples are performed for the calculation ofthermal stress in the circular region,the concentric circular region and the circularregion with an eccentric circular hole,separately.The results obtained are ingood agreement with the theoretical solutions and experimental results.It showsthat the boundary element method is quite valid for the solution of plane ther-moelastic problems.This paper can be applied to problems of plane elasticity with body force.

    本文利用位移法由平面热弹性问题的基本方程出发,简要地叙述了边界积分方程的建立及离散化手法,导出了由边界上的位移和表面力直接计算边界应力的公式。作为数值计算例,计算了圆形区域,同心圆区域和具有偏心圆孔的圆形区域的热应力。计算结果与解析解或实验结果进行了比较,两者相当吻合。计算表明,边界元法对求解平面热弹性问题十分有效.本文也适用于有体积力的平面弹性问题.
