Self-diffusion coefficients of phosphate in four soils of different texture at varying water content and temperature were measured by the methods of diffusion half-cells and diffusion tube using 32p-labelled KH2PO4 solution. The results showed that the apparent self-diffusion coefficient (Da)in the water unsaturated soils increased with increasing soil water content (W) or decreasing soil water suction (S). The relationship between Da and W or S could be described by the power equation of Da=aWb or Da=aS-b....

Self-diffusion coefficients of phosphate in four soils of different texture at varying water content and temperature were measured by the methods of diffusion half-cells and diffusion tube using 32p-labelled KH2PO4 solution. The results showed that the apparent self-diffusion coefficient (Da)in the water unsaturated soils increased with increasing soil water content (W) or decreasing soil water suction (S). The relationship between Da and W or S could be described by the power equation of Da=aWb or Da=aS-b. The effect of soil texture on Da value was closely related with moisture condition. Under the same water content, the lighter the soil texture the higher the Da value, and a significant positive correlation of Da value with clay content was observed. On the contrary, at equal water suction, a negative correlation between Da value and clay content was found normally. The porous self-diffusion coefficient (Dp) in water saturated soil was higher 102-103 fold than the Da value of the soil, but there were no differences between the soils. The Da or Dp value increased with the temperature, and every increase of temperature 10℃ within 5℃ to 45℃ caused the Da or Dp value to increase by about 10-50%, with an average of 30% or so.Moreover, nonlinear multiple regression analyses were used to investigate the relation between the interaction of soil moisture with temperature and the self-diffusion coefficient of phosphate in soil. The analytical results indicated that the interaction influenced the diffusion of phosphate clearly,and the influencing extent could be defined by the concepts of "water coefficient"and "temperature coefficient "advanced in this paper.

Surveys and studies in Jiangxi province show that vetiver grass contour hedgerows offer one practical technology to address this problem. The results indicate that : 1. Vigorous hedgerows of vetiver grass with their dense root system formed 1 or 2 years after the grass was planted. They constituted a biological soil moisture retention system effective for soil erosion control by fixing soil particles and conserving soil moisture. 2. In fields with a vetiver hedgerow arrangement, in dry and high temperature conditions, air and soil temperature decreased and surface water evaporation decreased while humidity increased. In cold winter adequate temperature could be maintained and frost damage could be minimized as the convection and diffusion of cold air could be buffered by the hedgerows. 3. Large quantities of biomass were generated with the quick tillering of vetiver grass. As a result an increased amount of organic matter accumulated in the soils as a large quantity of vetiver materials, naturally decayed or artificially applied, entered the soil layers. 4. Vetiver grass does not threaten the growth of crop as most weeds do because they develop without rhizomes or creeping stems and do not propagate by seeds. Therefor, they may be planted in orchards and crop fields using appropriate designs and forming sustainable multilayered integrated agricultural systems such as fruit-grass or crop-grass combinations.

本文根据我省香根草试验结果,针对我国南方红壤丘陵水土流失严重、生态环境退化等问题,从香根草适应能力强、生长成篱速度快、生物量大等优势及其显著水土保持、稳定水热状况、改善生态环境、培肥改土效果等方面分析,认为香根草的种植是促进红壤丘陵农业持续发展切实可行的有效措施。
