The mierostructure changes in metallic materials during hot deforma- tion may involve dynamic recovery, dynamic recrystallization, dynamic precipitation, static recovery, static recrystallization, static precipitation, post-dynamic recrystallization and strain-induced precipitation. A new mechanical method is described here to examine these microstructure changes. The technique is based on the flow curves obtained by hot tension, hot compression or hot torsion tests. It permits the determination of not only the kinetics of recovery, recrystallization and precipitation but also their interactions. Furthermore, as the test is carried out directly at high temperatures, it can eliminate the experimental errors resulted from quen- ching in conventional tests which are usually carried out at room tempera- ture.

Both the solidification cycle hot-tension test and the Trans-Varestraint test were used to investigate the effects of Niobium on the solidification crack susceptibility of 00Cr25Ni20Nb weld metals of fully γ and γ+δ. Results show that in both fully γ and γ+β weld metals solidification crack susceptibility increases with the increase in niobium content, but decreases when the niobium content is higher than 1.1%. Low melting eutectic (FeCrNi)2 Nb-γ along γ dendrites was found by synthetical study of SEM, TEM, EMP and phase analysis. Low melting eutectic is the main reason for the harmful effect of niobium on the solidification crack susceptibility of weld metal. The beneficial effects of ferrite are its grain refinement and its large Nb dissolubility. The comparison of two tests shows that the solidification cycle hot-tension test can be used to assess the solidification crack susceptibility of stainless steel weld metal. It is an effective method for studying the morphology of low melting eutectics and the fracture surface of solidification cracks.

本文用凝固循环热拉伸试验和横向可调拘束试验两种方法研究了00Cr25Ni20Nb焊缝中铌对凝固裂纹的影响规律。焊缝包括纯奥氏体和含有5%铁素体相两种。结果表明随Nb含量增加,焊缝凝固裂纹倾向增大,当Nb含量超过1.1%时,裂纹倾向开始减小。通过金相,扫描电镜、电子探针、透射电镜及相分析等手段的综合测定表明Nb对凝固裂纹的有害作用主要是它在奥氏体树枝晶间形成富Nb的低熔点共晶(FeCr-Ni)_2Nb-γ。铁素体相的有利作用在于细化γ晶粒并能溶解多量的Nb。两种试验结果的对比表明,用凝固循环热拉伸试验评定不锈钢焊缝凝固裂纹敏感性是可行的。它为研究焊缝凝固裂纹的断口形貌共晶相形态及结构分析提供了有效的手段。
