A method for the separation of vitamin B12 from methionine has been developed by the authors. The sample extracted is prepared by the usual method and...

A method for the separation of vitamin B12 from methionine has been developed by the authors. The sample extracted is prepared by the usual method and the extract passed through an active carbon absorption column, Then washing the column with pH 4.5 sodium acetate buffer solution removes methionine and finally vitamin B12 is eluted off with hot 65% alcohol Alcohol in the eluate is removed under reduced pressure and the methionine in the residue is in trace amount which can be corrected by the alkaline treatment. The recovery of vitamin B12 from the adsorption treatment ranges,from 95% to 101.3%, with an average of 98.8%.Nine kinds of Chinese -fermented soybean products have been assayed by this method. Fermented soybean curd with strong smell is a good dietary source of vitamin B12 activity, and it contains 1.88-9.80 r per 100 grams.

This deserves serious consideration in tracing the real value of the herb.In the article there has been assembled complete informations on Glechoma hederacea L.Similar informations have been sought for Desmodium stryracifolium (osb.) Merr (Desmodium retroflexum D.C.)but there are not available;This plant is apparently not as much studied as the other one,Glechoma hederacea L..

The au-thor has noted the relationship between microstructure and the conditions of crystalgrowth.In this paper, the various crystalline shapes are described in relation with the evo-luticn of microstructure of glass stones. It has been shown that the silica modifications aswell as other crystalline phases owe their morphologies to the history of crystal growths,or to the conditions of their formation. The stones are classified in respect with chemical aspects. The morphological study ofthe typical microstructures, relevant to the transformation of various silicate phases maycontribute to a better understanding of the origin of stones in glass.

玻璃结石的矿物组成可用岩石学方法来鉴定,但对找出它们的来源,有时还存在一定的困难。作者曾对显微结构与晶体生长条件之间的关系有过注意,本文叙述了玻璃结石显微结构中不同晶体的形状与发育过程的关系。可以看到,硅氧变体和其它晶相的不同特征形状是在不同条件下生长的结果。这些现象可作为了解晶体生长历史或形成原因的依据。 按化学观点我们把结石划分成几类,从形态学角度研究不同硅酸盐物相转变时的典型显微结构,对解释玻璃结石来源或可得出比较清晰的概念。
