This paper presents the principles concerning the design aud constructionin light of our own experiences, that include: 1. Main indexes of material consumptions coneluded from a large numberof such projects abroad and at home for use in preliminary design. 2. Basing, on experience data and empirical formulas, a suitable type ofsuperstructure as well as its approximate dimensions is to be selected. 3. The principles of design and the related problems are discussed, the"Synthetic Program" is recommended to deal with the computation of thestresses and deflections due to loads and other effects in control sectionsunder different construction stages. 4. The use of free cantilever method in construction and the determi-nation of consruction procedures in connection with the transformation of system in different stages are also demonstrated.

There come some problems affecting the shipping along the river, such as, the silt deposition in the channels at the dam site, re-silt at Xiangjiazui on the Nanjinguan section, deposition...

There come some problems affecting the shipping along the river, such as, the silt deposition in the channels at the dam site, re-silt at Xiangjiazui on the Nanjinguan section, deposition flush-out at Chouyanqi on the end of the reservoir after flood time, growth of the tongue of the shoal at Shanziqi, silt up of Yichang harbour. All these are unfavourable factors af fecting the shipping.In order to maintain an unimpeded traffic, measures should be taken as following:(1) A second navigation lock must be built simutaneously with the other items in the second stase of the Gezhouba project.(2) It is better to build a sand-blowing pipe system in the construction at Xiangjiazui.(3) The water level in front of the dam should be reduced down to 63M during the deposition flush-out time of Chouyanqi.(4) Walls must be built on the outlet of main valleys situated above Badong, so that the coming stones could remain in the valleys.(5) To see the future, planting trees to green the barren mountains over the Changjiang river valley would be the best way, which benefits not only to shipping but also to water and soil conservation.

长江是贯穿我国东西的水运大动脉,必须保证其畅通。葛洲坝建成后改变了天然河势,水位抬高、流速减缓。坝区左右航道中的泥沙淤积问题;南津关河段向家咀的回淤问题;库尾臭盐碛汛后的冲沙问题;扇子碛的滩唇发展问题;宜昌港的淤积问题以及长江集水区的水土流失问题等,这些都对长江航运带来不利的影响。为保证航运畅通,(1)大江航道必须与二期工程同时建成;(2)向家咀的整治中以冲沙管道方案较优;(3)臭盐渍走沙时要把坝前水位降低到63米;(4)巴东以上的主要溪沟应修建谷坊,把来石拦阻在沟内。(5)从长远来看,还要植树造林、绿化荒山、进行水土保持措施。

This paper, in view of the different railway traffic density, the implement of the state energy policy and the improvement of economic results, presents the theoretical research which gives to a conclusion on the optimum application of railway tractive power in this country as follows:Electrification shall be adopted on those main routes with heavy traffic density(36 millions of tonnage or more for double tracks and 8 millions of tonnage or more for single line), and with potentialey for remarkable improvement in traffic capacity, energy saving and economical achievement.Electrical traction is also appropriate on those lines with substantial traffic density, heavy gradient and lengthy tunnels;Diesel traction shall be realized as soon as possible for shunting operations in electrified lines and on big marshalling yards;At present, steam traction shall still be used on those lines with moderate traffic density(or with slow growing rate).This paper also offers the diagrams and tables showing the applicable and economical ranges for various tractive power used on railways.

本文根据我国铁路客货运量增长,国家能源政策,以及经济效益这三项基本原则,从理论上研究了我国铁路牵引动力合理使用范围:在运量大(即复线3600万吨、单线800万吨及其以上),解决运输能力效果显著,节省能源,经济效益好的干线上,应当加快进行电气化改造;在运量较大、坡度大、隧道长的线路上,也以采用电力牵引为宜。在电气化线路上和主要编组站的调车作业等方面,应尽快实现内燃牵引。在运量增长较缓,或经其它途径改造后仍有相当富余的线路上,还应当继续发挥蒸汽牵引的作用。本文中还用图表表示了各种牵引动力的运量适应范围和经济有利范围。 牵引动力现代化是铁路现代化的中心环节,它可以带动车辆、轨道、通信、信号等各个环节的技术改造。因此,制定好牵引动力技术政策,对我国铁路的发展具有深远意义和影响。 确定我国各种牵引动力的合理使用范围,是制定好铁路牵引动力技术政策的主要依据和基础工作。根据以上三项基本原则,从我国铁路运量,铁路技术条件,以及运营管理水平出发,通过理论计算和典型线路调查,研究结果如下述。
