A concept of instantaneous maximum likelihood estimation is presented and is shown to be asymptotically sufficient. A new approach of optimum estimation has been found by which the diffcult problem of non-linear estimation of time-varying parameters of signals is simplified as first finding the instantaneous maximum likelihood estimation and then its optimum processing.The apparatus used to realize the instantaneous maximum likelihood estimation is defined as optimum demodulator and its general configuration is given. The application of the above theory is described with the phase-modulated signal used as an example. Finally, the results obtained in this paper are compared with those of D. C. Youla and D. L. Snyder.

    The injector of 16V240Z diesel engine (240 injector) works under relative high dynamic and thermal loading conditions,its needle valve bodyis subjected to pulsating fuel pressure with the instantaneous maximum value 83.36MPa,and the maximum temperature of the nozzle head reaches 306°C.To assure good performances of injector under such rough conditions andto improve its quality,this paper presents an approach to increasing the service life of the nozzle from the structure design,material,heat treatment andfinish precision.Extensive accounts and analysis have been made on the modification of structure design,the choose of a new nitriding steel and theoptimization of gas nitriding process parameters.Three-year installed operating ??testing results showed that the service life of the nozzle had reached 10000hrs (300000km) or more.Atomizing is still good now. The special kind of injector was testimonialised by Railway Ministryon Oct.9,1985.The above modification is a favourable approach to increasingthe reliability and service life of the injector of high-power diesel engine.

    16V240Z柴油机喷油嘴在较高的动力负荷和热负荷下工作,其针阀体承受脉动油压,瞬时最高值达83.36MPa,喷油嘴头部最高温度为306℃,提高其使用寿命相当困难。本文从结构设计、材料、热处理、制造精度四方面综合考虑来提高该喷油嘴的使用寿命。文中对喷油嘴结构设计改进与制造精度的提高,选用氮化新钢种和气体氮化最佳工艺方案以及有关参数的选定和装车运行考核后的情况作了全面阐述和分析。经三年多装车运行考核,喷油嘴最高使用寿命达10000 h(300000km)以上,喷雾状况良好,现仍在正常工作。25Cr2MoAl钢气体氮化喷油嘴在1985年10月9日己通过铁道部技术鉴定。上述方案是提高大功率柴油机喷油嘴可靠性和寿命的良好途径。
