The electric probe measurement is described for the time evolution and space distribution of the plasma electron temperature Te and electron density ne in the pre-Test Torus. Experimental results show that Te and ne drop rapidly across the boundary region of plasma. Compared with the value in central region, ne decreases by an order of magnitude. The ion current coming from the shadow area of the li-miter is measured. A peak on the wave form of ion current is observed just before the plasma disappears.

This paper describes an X-ray fluorescence technique used for measuring thickness of ultra-thin coated layers absolutely and nondestructively with the non-monoenergetic primary radiation from a radioisotope source. It has been found that the precision for the layer-thickness measurements is better than 1.1%, and the relative deviation is less than 3.8% when the measured results are compared with those obtained from an α-ray thickness gauge based on the air equivalent method.
