With 70 year development, exploration geochemistry has expanded its scope from a tactical mineral exploration tool into a strategic methodology and from an experience technology into a science. Those can be seen from the following points: (1) Geochemical dispersion patterns have been established, (2) Multi media sampling methods, high sensitive analytical methods and data processing and interpretation methods have been developed, (3) Some national or regional geochemical atlases have been or are being published, (4) Great achievements have been made in the mineral discoveries all over the world, such as porphyry copper deposits in the former Soviet Union and North America during 1930s 1970s, uranium deposits in North America during 1970s and gold deposits in China from 1980s to present. Although splendid achievements have been made, exploration geochemistry is facing the following challenges: (1) geochemical baseline and global geochemical mapping, (2) three dimension geochemical dispersion patterns and deep penetration geochemical methods for concealed deposits, (3) geochemical blocks by accumulation of huge mass of metals and quantitative assessment for giant ore deposits, and (4) geochemical exploration for new difficult recognized types of mineral deposits.

The concept of ecological geochemistry and properties such as bioavailability,residues in environmental media and long-distance migration of organochlorine pesticides are introduced in this paper. The special methods of sampling and sample preservation,low sampling density,multi-media sampling and analytical technique for samples must be adopted in ecological geochemical survey according to organic geochemical behaviors of organochlorine pesticides in the environment.

Under the different environment conditions,the availability of the geochemical indicators is largely affected by different factors,thus leading to the differences of the application for different media samples.Being aimed at the characteristics of different media samples,the samples from marine bottom sediments,bottom seawater and lower air were collected by using the tri-dimensionally multi-media sampling method.By using this useful sampling method,as well as the multi-indicators integrative analysis,the results of the samples from different media and depth can be validated and reinforced and the disturbing effects of different factors could be well eliminated.The result can provide the foundation for hydrocarbon resource evaluation.By using this method in the North Yellow Sea Basin,three classes of geochemical anomalous areas have been determined and several potential hydrocarbon targets have been brought forward,which have the good correlation with existing oil and gas areas and geological analytical results.

由于不同环境条件下,不同化探测试指标受到不同的因素干扰,所以不同介质样品的应用条件存在一定的差异。针对不同介质样品特点,分别采集海底沉积物、底部海水和低空大气3种介质样品,并采用在海底沉积物柱状样不同深度部位取样的立体取样方法,通过多指标综合分析,对不同介质和深度样品的多项化探指标互相进行了验证和补充,可以抑制干扰因素的影响,为油气资源远景评价提供依据。运用该方法在北黄海盆地油气勘查中进行初步尝试,并据此划分了三级化探异常区,提出了有利的含油气远景区,均与已知油气区和区域地质分析的结果相符合,取得了很好的效果。
