The transplants (parathyroid glands) were obtained from young adultssoon after death except that 2 cases received fetal parathyroid glands. Theparathyroid glands were cut into slices of 2×3mm in size. Then the sliceswere preserved in 0℃～4℃ normal saline. The graft were implanted in themiddle of brachioradialis muscule. The patient were followed up for 6～45months (averaging 19.6 months) postoperatively. The results of the treatmentwere satisfactory. The auther considers that treatment of hypoparathyroidism with parathyro-idal allotranplantation is a safe, simple and economical therapeutic approach,therefore is recommendable to the medical world.

SYNOPSIS: Leontice Kiagnanensis PL Chiu is a medical herb used by workers of folk medicine to treat traumatic injuries. In recent years this herb has aroused great interest in the medical world. On the basis of findings of research experiments, the authors used this drug in clinical work. Through external application of this drug, quite good results were obtained in 152 cases of acute and chronic soft tissue injuries in reducing swelling, relieving pain, and restoring functions. The total efective rate reached 84.9％, In comparison with the control group treated with Yunnan baiyao (a famous medical powder for treating haemorrhage, injuries,etc.), the theraputic effect of this drug appeared to be even better.
