The results showed that the correlation degrees of Σ7—8 months’ precipitation, Σ6—8 months’ precipitation/Σ6—8 months’temperature and Σ4—7 months’ sunshine in relation to the yield were 0 47,0 41 and 0 35 respectively and the correlation was in the order of 0 47>0 41>0 35.Water was the main limiting factor affecting the community yield.

(2) DLC phase has larger negative correlation (degrees -0.57, -0.33 ) with critical surface tension and chromatic dispersion branch of surface tension , while its correlation degrees with the other four parameters related to polari ty are all positive values smaller than 0.20;

In order to study effects by different factors, calculation of correlation degree between source parameters of the nine strong events and their aftershock sequence data is also made. The results indicate that correlation degree and correlation sequence of the precursory data, source parameters and aftershock sequence of the same event might be some different. Possible reasons that cause such differences are discusst.d in the paper,suggesting that as for the better predicted Haicheng and Songpan earthquakes, both are characterizing as small correlation degree on the precursory data, being the most late correlation sequence of each event. There are also two types of varied results from fuzzy cluster analysis, indicating that they are two different types of precursory data in earthquake prediction,

This paper discusses the effect of correlation of independent variables on regression analysis for dam monitoring data and the formula r_(ij)=1/1-cos(φ_2-φ_1), where r represents the coefficient of correlation factor with the same period. The correlation degree of independent variables may decrease the accuracy of the unknown solution and even leads to inapplication of the above formula. When r_(ij)<0.8, the regression resolution method can obtain satisfactory results.
